I just want to share some things that I think are quite useful and helpful for moms who are sometimes on the lookout for tips in making their mommy journey easier. I, for one am so much grateful for all the mommy tips that I read in the net and some I got from my friends or acquaintances. Having two school-age whose activities are so unpredictable, it always helps to have foresight on what might. Talking about two heads are better than one. So here goes:
1. When going out with toddlers/preschoolers:
Bring the "essentials." I always have my wet wipes, my sanitizer, my potty
spray, white cloth/lampin/towelette and a plastic bag for those occassional throwing up episodes. These are important especially when
there's a lot of playing, eating, sweating, crying, peeing o throwing involved.
Bring your own little First Aid kit. Have a band aid, those antibacterial ointment in a small
sachet, a sachet of betadine wipes and cotton balls/buds. We can never be sure that
they won't get a little scrape or "booboo" while playing or doing their own thing.
2. When in the house:
It always pays to be safe. We made sure our furniture are child-friendly and
accident-proof.
It also helps if "their" stuff are kept in an easy-to-find- and-get part of the house. It teaches them to be a bit independent especially when it's time to tidy up.
3. Wisdom:
Worry less, have more fun.
When they ask questions that are too "censored" and your child-friendly answers
are not enough for them, telling them that they will only get the answers when
they are bigger/older. It works everytime for my daughters and I get a lot of
time to prepare my answers well.
Be a model. Literally. My eldest used to hate wearing a skirt much more a dress.
I really had to get angry first before I can force her to wear one. Then one
day, my husband told me maybe I should show her first that I too like to wear a
dress or skirt so she would follow. Lo and Behold! It worked. It was a "big"
change for me but I realized that my daughters' fashion sense somehow mirrors
what I was or still am when it comes to dressing up:playing safe. Now, I am
enjoying discovering and trying new things with my girls.
